A 36 year old male was admitted to Cho Sun University Hospital with continuous hematemesis and melena for three days. On the 5th hospital day, exploratory laparotomy was performed and bleeding point was identified on the posterior wall of the stomach.
From the partially resected stomach the lesion was coefirmed to be ruptured gastric aneurysm due to artriosclerotic changes of the vessels by histopatopathologic examination. The Patient was discharged
on the 8th postoperative day in good condition.
The hematemesis resulting from rupture of the gastric aneurysm is one of the rarest condition with high fatality rate and prevalent among the adult male with continuous and recurrent gastric hemorrhage.
